Bob is a native of Nemaha County and is actively involved with school, community and regional activities. Bob has been an active member of many organizations including the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, the Eagles club, Rotary, the Auburn Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Knights of Columbus. Bob coached American Legion Baseball for 25 years.

Bob served on the Auburn School Board for 12 years and as mayor of Auburn for eight years. In 2011, Bob was appointed by Governor Heineman to serve on The Nebraska State College System, the governing board for the three state colleges at Chadron, Peru, and Wayne.

Bob’s wife Wendy is a retired elementary teacher with Auburn Public Schools. His daughter Kara lives in Auburn and is a teacher at Humboldt Table Rock Steinhauer Public Schools. Daughter Kristine is married to Clint Swanson and they have three children, Olivia, Ella, and Blake.
